Italian Drunken Noodles

I felt like cooking with white wine so I found this gem on the yummly app. It’s suppose to have Italian sausage but I replaced it with ground turkey instead. Try it either way and I think you’ll be satisfied :D!

Serves 6

1 pounds of italian sausage (or any ground meat)
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp italian seasoning
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 red pepper
1 yellow pepper
1 orange pepper
4 cloves garlic
1/2 cup white wine
1 cans diced tomatoes in juice
2 tbs parsley
1/4 cup basil
8 ozs egg noodles


Use a large heavy-bottom pan over medium-heat and add about 2 tbs of olive oil. Once oil is hot, add your grounded meat or sausage in the pan to brown. Once browned, remove from pan with a slotted spoon and place into a bowl.

Add and stir the diced bell peppers, salt, Italian seasoning and black pepper. Cook for about 2 minutes.

Add the garlic and white wine and allow it to reduce for a few minutes until almost completely reduced. Add your diced tomatoes and return the browned meat. Stir and allow to simmer for about 3-4 minutes, then turn off heat.

Drizzle about 2-3 tbs of olive oil to create a rich flavor then add chopped parsley and about half of the basil. Stir and keep warm while you prep the noodles.

Once egg noodles are finished, add to the sauce/meat mix and toss gently until evenly mixed. Add remaining basil and top with Parmesan cheese and drizzle a bit more olive oil if you like. Enjoy!
